Frequently asked questions about Voting
You can find your current registration status by searching the State of Connecticut’s online voter registration database HERE.
If you are not yet registered, you may do so in one of three ways:
Online using Connecticut’s Online Voter Registration System HERE.
In person at the Fairfield Registrar of Voters’ office in Old Town Hall (611 Old Post Road) from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm Monday to Friday or 8:30 am - 8:00 pm on the Tuesday before Election Day.
While not ideal, it is possible to register to vote - and vote - on Election Day. First confirm that you are NOT already registered (see first FAQ above). If you are not currently registered to vote in Fairfield but are eligible to, you may go to Old Town Hall (611 Old Post Road) between the hours of 6am and 8pm to both register and vote. Find out more about your voting district(s) and Fairfield polling location HERE. IMPORTANT: YOUR RTM DISTRICT AND VOTING LOCATION MAY HAVE CHANGED. Following completion of the 2020 U.S. Census, new voting districts were established by the Fairfield RTM per our Town Charter. Please be sure of your correct voter district and polling location BEFORE heading to the polls this Nov. 7.
If you need to vote absentee, you may now apply for an absentee ballot online HERE. Once your absentee ballot arrives in the mail, fill it out and follow the instructions to mail it in or drop it off. You may drop it off with Fairfield’s Town Clerk (office located in Old Town Hall, 611 Old Post Road) or drop it in the absentee ballot drop box located outside of Old Town Hall.
